We’re all really excited about the publication of Jo Colwill’s new book, Cushions & Quilts, and one of our crafty team took her family down to Cornwall for the weekend to enjoy the book launch held at Cowslip Workshops in Launceston.

Jo Colwill Cushions & Quilts

Jo Colwill hosted a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to promote her new book Cushions & Quilts. There were queues around the block for signed copies of Jo’s book and she soon sold out – don’t worry stocks are being replenished!!

Gillian GoodmanThe Felted SheepCrafters of all kinds set up shop in the barn at Newhouse Farm to sell their wares. The 30 stalls included lampshade maker, Gillian Goodman and felting company, The Felted Sheep. The halls were strung with bunting and it was a craft lovers’ dream whether you enjoy knitting, sewing or stitching.

Jo Wheatley Jo Wheatley, winner of BBC2′s The Great British Bake Off in 2011, was there to demonstrate some of her baking skills. She showed visitors how to make her flavoursome parmesan and rosemary biscuits.

Kaffe FassettVisitors could also visit the Kaffe Fassett exhibition which is currently at Cowslip Workshops. His extraordinary quilts and fabrics looked stunning in the summer light and it was impossible not to be amazed by his use of colour and pattern.

Children were entertained by the puppet show and grown ups and children alike enjoyed the delicious Cornish ice cream!

We chatted to Jo at the launch to find out more about her and discuss the book:

I love going to Jo’s. Lovely shop, friendly staff, nice cafe and the recent mad hatters tea party was wonderful, loads of beautiful stalls all set in the barns around the farm. Feel very lucky to live so close I can pop over there on a whim.
